On 20 October 2021, L'Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniqueset de la Poste (ARCEP) issued an official statement on the approval of telecommunications equipment in Benin, reminding that all telecommunications equipment imported into Benin must be approved by ARCEP.

Sanctions may be imposed if unauthorized equipment is imported into Benin after 31 December 2021.
