On August 25th the Official Gazelle of Mexico issued the new Mexican Standard NMX-I-62368-1-NYCE-2020, on Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment – Part 1: Safety Requirements. This Standard will take effect on August 25, 2022, and will replace the previous standard version NMX-I-62368-1-NYCE-2015.

This Mexican Standard is applicable to the safety of electronic equipment in the field of audio, video, information and communication technologies, office and business machines with a nominal voltage not exceeding 480V.

NMX-I-62368-1-NYCE-2020 applies to the following:

Equipment operating at single-phase voltage of:

• 100V a.c to 277V a.c

• 50Hz or 60Hz

and/or three-phase voltage of:

• 173V a.c to 480V a.c

• 50Hz or 60Hz
