The Thai Ministry of Industry published Ministerial Regulation B.E. 2564, 2021 on 31 August 2021, under the authority of the Industrial Product Standards Act.

The main points are as below:

1. Double-capped LED lamps designed to retrofit linear fluorescent lamps meet the Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2779-2562 (2019) specifying the safety requirements of said products, and are approved in accordance with the Announcement No. 5865 of the Ministry of Industry of 10 August 2020.

2. Self-ballasted LED-Lamps for general lighting services by voltage higher than 50 V meet Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2780-2562 (2019) specifying the safety requirements of said products, which are approved in accordance with Announcement No. 5866 of the Ministry of Industry dated 10 August 2020.

Both TIS 2779-2562 (2019) and TIS 2780-2562 (2019) standards will be of mandatory application which will come into force on 29 March 2022.
