Sri Lanka’s national COVID-19 lockdown was due to conclude on September 21, 2021 but has been extended until October 1st by President Gotabhaya. The lockdown has since been extended several times as the COVID-19 situation in Sri Lanka remains severe. During lockdown period, Sri Lanka’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) will not issue certificate or exemption letter which will cause delay of certificate and exemption issuance. Exemption letter will not be prioritized at these moment due to Type approval Certificate have a lot of backlog.
