Argentina Request Local Testing for Cellular Interface Products
Publisher:Admin  Source:  Date:2021/9/13

Finally, Argentina ENACOM accredited the 2nd lab for ENACOM-Q2-61.03 standard testing (User Terminals of Mobile Communications Services). This means local tests for cellular interface products will be mandatory 180 days after this publication (article 2º of res.) which was released on Friday, August 27, 2021. Therefore, since February 23rd, 2022, applications containing devices using cellular standard must be submitted along with local test reports, no exception.

1. Local standard is divided in chapters: II for GSM, III for WCDMA and IV for LTE.

a. Two labs are accredited to test GSM/WCDMA. Therefore, these technologies are mandatory to test from Feb 23rd, 2022.

b. One lab is accredited to test LTE. Therefore, foreign reports will continue to be accepted until the 2nd lab gets accreditation to test. Also, manufacturers can choice to test LTE optionally, but it’s not a mandatory rule.

2. Existing approvals using cellular interface: it’s not mandatory to test them now or after February 23rd, 2022, unless manufacturer needs to renew. If manufacturer wants they could test in advance and update their registration. But it is no mandatory.

3. In case of renewals submitted after February 23rd, 2022, it will be mandatory to submit local test reports.
