On November 26th, 2020 ANATEL published the Act 7280 that changes several stages of the certification by ANATEL in Brazil.

Some of the main changes are:

1. ISO 9001 certificate will be required for all factory units, no matter the type of product; the ISO should be in Portuguese for all the certification.

2. 1 year renewal cycle will be extinct for new approvals and for those products the new renewal cycle will become 2 years (example: phones, WWAN devices, ONT, xDSL modem, Mobile Phone’s batteries and chargers, power bank, etc.);

3. ANATEL will accept testing reports done abroad for some type of devices, such as OLT, Data Network Equipment (Switch) installed in corporative/industrial environment, Multiplex, DWDM and some others. The foreigner laboratory must be accredited by one ILAC member and testing done within 2 years;

a.The report must follow same or similar standard as ANATEL. For example: for corporative/industrial switch (with no RF) it will acceptable to use CISPR 22 or CISPR 32 report issued by any laboratory accredited by an ILAC member. Note: testing date cannot have more than 2 years.

4. No more lifetime certificate will be issued; all the previous products that were in this category now will have a 3 years renewal cycle.

5. ANATEL is expected to issue an Operational Procedure about some products being able to be accepted to approve by Declaration of Conformity (DoC). Examples: Broadcasting equipment, RF Power Amplifier for Earth Station, Earth Station Modem, Connectors, Satellite transceiver, XDSL Filter - Central Splitter and others.
