On March 31, 2021, Cambodian mobile operator Smart Axiata has announced that it will enhance the 4G LTE network while ensuring the network is ready for 5G upgrade once the government authorizes the rollout of the technology. Besides that, Smart Axiata will also gradually shut down its 3G network during the course of 2021 by refarming the residual frequency used for 3G to 4G services.
