On March 22, 2021, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a notice that the U.S. CPSC was upgraded to a participating government agency (PGA) to participate in product clearance review. All products within the jurisdiction of CPSC, whether they are transported by land, sea or air, will be marked for examination. The review includes product compliance documents, such as CPC certificate for children's products, GCC certificate for general products and corresponding test reports. The notice also indicates that even if the imported goods pass the declaration, if CPSC does not release them, they can not be sold and can only be overstocked in the warehouse.
