On February 16, 2021, SIRIM has announced the implementation of declaration letter for adaptor that is not sold together with communication and multimedia product.

The main points are:

1. Subject: New requirement to upload declaration letter from principal for the submission of type approval application.

2. Scope: Adaptor that is not sold together with the communication and multimedia product.

3. Contents for the declaration letter are:

Title : DECLARATION FOR ADAPTOR NOT SUPPLIED TOGETHER WITH COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA PRODUCT TO BE CERTIFIED

The necessary information to be declared are:

• Model name and brand of the product to be sold on its own without the adaptor,

• Model name of the compatible adaptor for the product specified above;

• The certificate holder is obliged to obtain Certificate of Approval (CoA) from the Energy Commission (SuruhanjayaTenaga) and to affix SIRIM ST label on the adaptor.

4. Effective Date: March 1, 2021
