Effective Date of Batteries & Plugs’ TISI QR Code Mark Extended

On January 19, 2021Thailand government cabinet approved TISI’s request to extend the implementation date of TISI QR code mark for another 180 days and officially announced the new ministry rule onto royal gazette. The details are as follows:

1. Subject : Requirement for TIS mark with QR code for Secondary Cells, Batteries and Plugs

2. Ministry Rule : Appearance of Industrial Standard Marking (Issue 2) B.E. 2564

3. Marking Requirements:

a. TISI/QR code mark should be displayed on battery / plug and on packaging in addition

b.  Location of TIS mark should be on the battery. As for plug, it should be in front at pin area or at side

c. TIS mark size shall be suitable and proportional to size of battery/plug with following standard:

• Mark size shouldn’t be smaller than 3 mm

• Text height of standard number cannot be less than 1.5 mm

d. QR code marking shall be displayed in the same area with TIS mark with size not less than 10 mm

e. Certificate holder needs to login to below website to create QR code:

4. Previous effective date : January 21, 2021

5. New effective date : 180 days from previous effective date (July 20, 2021)
