News丨The New ERP Regulation for Electronic Displays and Televisions
Publisher:Admin  Source:  Date:2020/12/23

The rapid development of science and technology is leading to the upgrading of electronic displays and televisions. To accurately evaluate the energy efficiency, European commission sets out the working plan 2016-2019, electronic displays are one of the product groups listed in the working plan, and televisions are one type of electronic displays. New regulation (EU) 2019/2021 is issued on 2019-10-01; it will replace the regulation (EC) No 642/2009 of televisions on 2021-03-01, and amend the scope of (EC) No 1275/2008 which will no longer apply to electronic displays. See following detail information on (EU) 2019/2021

★ On 2021-03-01,new energy efficiency regulation (EU) 2019/2021 of electronic displays will replace the energy efficiency regulation (EC) No 642/2009 of televisions, the label regulation (EU) 2019/2013 of electronic displays will replace (EU) No 1062/2010 of televisions at the same time.

★  (EU) 2019/2021 apply to electronic displays, including televisions, monitors, digital signage displays, except for the following:
• any electronic display with a screen area smaller than or equal to 100 square centimeters
• projectors
• all-in-one video conference systems
• medical displays
• virtual reality headsets
• displays integrated or to be integrated into the arms, munitions and war material intended for specifically military purposes
• displays integrated or to be integrated into the equipment designed to be sent into space,or large-scale stationary industrial tools ……

★ The energy efficiency requirement for On mode:
The energy efficiency index (EEI) of an electronic display shall be calculated using the following equation, A represents the screen area in dm2, Pmeasured is the measured power in Watts in on mode in the normal configuration, corr is a correction factor

1.jpg

The EEI of an electronic display shall not exceed the limit as below:

2.jpg

★ The energy efficiency requirement for off mode, standby mode and networked standby mode:
Electronic displays shall not exceed power demand limits in the different modes and conditions as below:

★ Energy efficiency classes for electronic displays label:
To determine the energy efficiency class, the Energy Efficiency Index for label (EEIlabel) shall be calculated using the following equation, A represents the viewing surface area in dm², Pmeasured is the measured power in on mode in Watts in the normal configuration, corrl is a correction factor.

Then, the energy efficiency class of an electronic display shall be determined on the basis of its energy efficiency index for label (EEIlabel) as below:

★ Label for electronic displays:

The following information shall be included in the label for electronic displays:

I :QR code

II:supplier’s name or trade mark

III:supplier’s model identifier

IV:scale of energy efficiency classes from A to G

V:the energy efficiency class (SDR)

VI:on mode energy consumption in kWh per 1 000 h (SDR)

VII:the energy efficiency class (HDR)

VIII:on mode energy consumption in kWh per 1 000 h (HDR)

IX:visible screen diagonal in centimeters and inches and horizontal and vertical resolution in pixels

X:the number of this Regulation “2019/2013”

★ Register the Electronic displays in product database:

Electronic displays(including televisions) shall be registered into European product database for energy labeling (EPREL), see the following link:

BACL Service:

BACL is the first Chinese laboratory who introduces US Energy Star into China and also is a sampling and testing laboratory of CB certification body approved by the EPA. At the same time we obtain the authorization and recognition of NVLAP (Lab Code: 200707-0)、IAS (Accreditation No.: TL-460, TL-749)、CNAS (Registration No.: L2408, L5662, L6290, L9963, L11432, IB0343)、A2LA (Certificate No.: 3297.01, 3297.02, 3297.03, 4821.01, 4820.01, 4324.01, 4323.01), and so on. Respectively have testing sites in US, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Kunshan, such places. With the ability to complete the energy efficiency aging detection of 60,000 lights at the same time, BACL is the largest and most authoritative energy efficiency testing laboratory in China.

We can provide you with many services, such as US Energy Star, DLC, DOE, CEC Title20, CEC Title24, LDL, FTC Label, European Union ERP, Canada NRCan, UK EST, Australia GEMS/VEET/IPART, global Energy efficiency Label ELI and Hong Kong Energy Label inspection and certification.
