On November 30, 2020, Malaysia Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) announced new energy efficiency requirements.

The main points are as follows:

1)  Based on ST(IP/JKSK/UKLE) 100-09/01/1 (74 ), energy efficiency report cannot use ID letter (letter of similarity) to represent other models that is not included in the test report. As for the products stuck in custom, ST will give a leeway for importer to do verification test in SIRIM for internal approval until December 31, 2020.

2)  New mandatory product in Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) list:
