On December 5th, the Turkish regulatory agency-Bilgi Teknolojileri veİletişim Kurumu (BTK) has suspended all type certification applications and officially announced the acceptance of the RED directive for radio equipment.

Assuming that the product meets the requirements of RED and the preparation of RED conformity/CE marking, Turkish instruction, product labelling and samples in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law of the Ministry of Trade, BTK type approval is no longer required.

In addition, BTK also sent an official letter to the importer regarding the application process for the type standard. In the letter, BTK also reminded importers to pay attention to the requirements of market supervision to avoid unnecessary fines.
