
On November 20, 2020, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization (SASO) issued a draft technical regulation on RoHS requirements, aimed at restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
The draft technical regulations mainly describe the categories of products under the control of Saudi Arabia RoHS, conformity assessment procedures, and limit values of hazardous substances and related test standards. Public consultation on the regulations has been open until January 19, 2021, and is expected to be from 2021. It will be implemented on June 7, 2015.
