1. Thailand

On June 19, 2020, Thailand’s TISI officially issued a notice to include the mobile power supply in the mandatory certification list. The certification standard is TIS 2879-2560, which will take effect 150 days after the announcement and is expected to be officially implemented on November 16, 2020.
2. Korea

• The KC 62133-2:2020 certification standard was officially released on July 21, 2020, which means that the 2017 version of the 62133 CB certificate + report can be accepted for transfer.
• Before December 31, 2020, the old and new KC62133 standards will coexist. This means that the 2012 version of the 62133CB certificate can still be used to apply for the KC certificate in the second half of this year. However, starting from 2021, the old version of KC62133 will be invalidated and only KC62133-2:2020 will be accepted. Certification application.
• Starting from November 15, 2020, KC has included disposable cylindrical batteries and disposable button-shaped batteries into the scope of certification control. The standards are to be determined; samples need to be sent to a Korean laboratory for testing, which is subject to safety confirmation and does not require factory audit.
• Starting from January 1, 2021, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (energy density exceeding 700Wh/L and charging voltage exceeding 4.4V) used in tablets, mobile phones, and laptops will also become KC certified safety targets, requiring KC Audit factory.
3. India

The Indian BIS authority has extended the validity of the standard 16046:2015 standard for alkaline or non-acid electrolyte rechargeable batteries to December 29, 2020. Lithium batteries shipped to India after this date will implement the new standards IS 16046 (Part 1): 2018 and IS 16046 (Part 2): 2018. Cells and battery packs need to apply for BIS CRS certification separately, and samples need to be sent to the local laboratory for testing; when applying for battery pack certification, the cells must first confirm whether they have obtained CRS certification.
4. Australia

Both rechargeable lithium batteries and mobile power supplies can apply for RCM registration, which is voluntary and not mandatory.
5. Saudi Arabia

• Only rechargeable lithium batteries used in mobile phones need to apply for SIRC certification, which can be transferred based on IEC62133 CB certificate + report, without certification mark.
• Mobile Power needs to apply for SIRC certification, which can be transferred based on IEC60950-1 CB certificate + report, without certification mark.
(Note: After completing the SIRC certification of lithium batteries or mobile power supplies, the importer still needs to declare itself in the SABE system before exporting.)
