Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) developed a draft technical code for the purpose of certifying communications equipment, which is now under public comment period from August 21 to September 20, 2020.

The main points are as follows:

Scope: 

• Cellular Booster Equipment (CBE) that is intended for use in connection with public mobile telecommunication services in Malaysia.

Requirements:

• CBEs shall not cause interference with other authorized radio-communication services and be able to tolerate any interference caused by other radio-communication services, electrical or electronic equipment.

• CBEs shall not be constructed with any external control which permits the adjustment of operation that is inconsistent with this Technical Code.

• CBEs default setting only operate within the frequency range stipulated in SRSPs.

• CBEs shall fulfill the additional requirements made by the relevant Regulatory Body (if any).

• The operating voltage of AC adaptor for CBEs shall be 240 V + 5%, -10% and frequency of 50 Hz±1% for single phase equipment.

• Adaptor, power supply cord and main plug shall be pre-approved by the relevant regulatory body before being used with the equipment.

• CBEs shall comply with: Radio Frequency (RF), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Safety Requirements.

Marking：

The CBEs shall be marked with following information:

• Supplier / manufacturer’s brand name or identification mark,

• Supplier / manufacturer’s model or type reference,

• Other markings as required by relevant standards.
