VN/ViệtnamTISI officially released Rules TIS2879-2560 for Power Bank on 19th June 2020.
1. Scope: The new standard covers safety requirements of portable power bank.
2. Effective date: 150 days from announcement date on royal gazette (16 November 2020).
3. Definition: Power bank is classified as class II equipment which is defined as a portable energy storage device that has a rechargeable battery. There is at least 1 channel of electric charge circuit with the output voltage not more than 6 volts, including a backup battery that supports fast charging to recharge electricity and electronic equipment.

5. Marking and Recommendation
a) Marking on power bank shall be permanent, legible and easily visible.
b) The label can either be marked on the product or on its packaging.
c) Test for marking and labeling endurance shall be conducted based on TIS1561 clause 1.7.11.
d) Power bank shall contain following marking:
• Manufacturer name or distributor name, trademark or identification mark and country of manufacturing.
• Model number or reference model name, and serial number or production serial number.
• Symbol(IEC60417-5172 (DB:2003-02)) for product class II only.
• Rated Input Voltage in Volt (V).
• Rated Output DC Voltage (V).
• Rated Input Current in milliampere (mA) or ampere (A).
• Rated Output Current in milliampere (mA) or ampere (A).
• Rated Input Frequency or Rated Frequency Range in Hertz (Hz) except that it is power bank designed for direct current only.
• Rated Capacity in milliampere hour (mAH) or ampere hour (Ah).
• Month/Year of manufacture.
e) Operating instruction and required safety information under this standards shall be included in power bank.
f) The TISI standard number (TIS2879-25xx) should be marked underneath TISI logo. 25xx is year of issuing standard. Final number xx has to be checked before apply marking.
