SASO News: Plugs must comply with SASO 2203: 2018 from Sep 1, 2020

The Saudi Arabian Standards organization SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization) currently publishes the latest notice. Since September 1, 2020, products within the scope of Saudi IECEE RC regulations, such as equipped with plugs, the SASO 2203:2018 testing report must be provided by following two ways:

1. National Deviation which meets the requirement of SASO 2203:2018 should be added to the end product’s IECEE CB test report.


2. A third-party test report must fulfill three conditions:

• Recognized testing laboratory according to IEC/ISO 17025

• Accreditation scope include the testing standard: SASO 2203:2018

• Theplug’s model number in the third-party test report must be related and mentioned in the end product’s CB test report

Note: Applications before September 1, 2020, plug report and declaration lettercan still BS 1363-1: 2016 can stillbe accepted
