On October 4, 2016, Turkey published new toy safety regulation on the Turkey government bulletin (No. 29847), the original regulation (No.28807) which was published in October 2013 was abolished. The new toy safety regulations in Turkey will be fully using the EU toy safety directive 2009/48/EC, in addition to market supervision and inspection process.
Coming into Force:
Organized by the Department of customs and the Ministry of Commerce of Turkey, and it will come into force after 6 months after the regulation was published.
Amendments
The new toy safety regulation in Turkey contains a series of important requirements, including EC declaration of conformity (DOC), on chemical properties, mechanical properties, flame retardant properties and electrical performance requirements, obligations of operators, technical documentation, the use material of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity and reproductive toxicity (CMRs).
Earlier, the chemical substances are not in toy safety law in Turkey, such as formamide, some preservatives, bisphenol A (BPA), and flame retardant, etc. These chemical substances will be required in the new toy safety regulations.
